Dean Thompson in Romania

The American Charge d‘Affaires in Romania, Dean Thompson, considers that the Romanian army is an essential strategic partner for the United States. At the early reception organized by the US Embassy in Bucharest celebrating the 4th of July, the diplomat praised the Romanian institutions that are colaborating with American partners in the fight against terrorism and organized crime. Dean Thompson also mentioned that Romania and the US are binded by the same values and principles in a common cause.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis commented on the remarkable relation between Romania and the US, which is of a strategic importance for stability in the area, given the complicated regional context. The President also made mention of the fact that close to Romania, international law rules have been broken and that new security threats have pushed through.
